Look back when the shadows of darkness fall

Vilnius City Municipal Choir “Young Music” and St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra invite you to a concert “Turn Back When the Shadows of Darkness Fall” on September 19th at St. Catherine Church in Vilnius.
The evening program will feature for the first time in Lithuania the 21st century a masterpiece of serious and sacred music of Arvo Pärt’s “Adam’s Lament” for Choir and Chamber Orchestra. During the concert, the audience will also have the opportunity to get acquainted with Egon Wellesz’s work “Elizabeth Barrett Browning Sonnets” and to delve into Anatoly Shenderov’s magical energy in the “Post scriptum”.
The concert, organized by Pax et Bonum (Lithuania) and the non-profit organization Académie Lyrique (France). This initiative, which has been in existence for a decade, aims to honor the victims of the Holocaust and to resurrect the work of composers who have suffered under totalitarian regimes.

During the evening the choir “Jauna Muzika” and St. The Christopher Chamber Orchestra will be conducted by Amaury du Closel (France), a composer and conductor, cavalier of the Order of the French Knight of Art. He formed several professional orchestras, directed various stage productions and published a Critics Prize-winning book on composers affected by the Third Reich. Currently, A. du Closel is the artistic director of the Voix Etouffées (Silent Voices) and the festival of the same name.

Vilnius City Municipal Choir Jauna Muzika and St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra’s Concert, “Turn Back When the Shadows of Darkness Fall”, will be held on September 19th with soloist Erminie Blondel, concert director, actress Dalia Michelevičiūtė and conductor Amaury du Closel. (Thursday) 7 p.m. ar St. Catherine Church (30 Vilniaus St., Vilnius). Entrance is free.
